We are pleased to announce Pieta Brown’s highly acclaimed 3rd album Remember The Sun, originally released on UK based label One Little Independent (home of many of Björk’s recordings) is now available from Righteous Babe! The album received many accolades upon release, including being featured in Wall Street Journal’s year-end best of list. Years later iconic film director Wim Wenders included a cover of “Remember The Sun” (by Pieta’s father Greg Brown released on his album Freak Flag) in his film Every Thing Will Be Fine, along with another one of Pieta’s songs “I’m Gone” from her album Mercury. Having been deeply affected as a young teen by the films of Wim Wenders, Pieta still considers this a personal artistic highlight. “When the songs come in I never really know where they are coming from. Or what voice I will be able to sing them in. Or if they will make it until tomorrow, even. The songs and music have taken me so many spectacular places. But to have one of my favorite songwriters - my dad - record one of my songs and have that make its way into the sonic weave of a film by one of my favorite filmmakers - Wim Wenders - means the world to me as an artist. It’s proof of a kind of energy and frequency I can’t really name. But it’s proof!”
